In a landmark event at the Naval Headquarters in New Delhi, the Indian Navy and the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur have formalized their collaboration with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This alliance, marked by the signatures of Rear Admiral K Srinivas, Assistant Chief of Materiel (Dockyard & Refit) of the Indian Navy, and Prof. (Ms) Rintu Banerjee, Dean (R&D) of IIT Kharagpur, in the presence of Prof. Virendra Kumar Tiwari, the Director of IIT Kharagpur, is a testament to their shared vision for fostering technological innovation, research, and development.
Centered on collaborative research efforts, this partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both institutions to spearhead advancements in technology and innovative solutions. With INS Shivaji in Lonavala taking the helm for coordination, this initiative promises to bridge the gap between academic research and military applications.
