Boosting Make in India 2.0: DPIIT Collaborates with 24 Sub-Sectors for Manufacturing Excellence

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is collaborating with 24 sub-sectors, such as furniture, aluminum, agrochemicals, and textiles, to drive domestic manufacturing, enhance exports, and curtail imports. This initiative, part of ‘Make in India 2.0,’ follows the program’s successful implementation and focuses on 15 manufacturing sectors and 12 service sectors. The selected sub-sectors, including air-conditioners, fisheries, robotics, and medical devices, leverage India’s industrial strengths, aiming for import substitution, export potential, and increased employment. The ministry underscores a holistic and coordinated approach to stimulate the growth of these sub-sectors, employing investment outreach and facilitation strategies through ministries, state governments, and global missions to attract potential investors.
