The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has joined forces with the Start-up Policy Forum (SPF), an influential organization representing India’s leading new-age companies, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced on Friday.
The partnership will kick off with the SPF Baithak, a high-level meeting bringing together founders and policymakers on January 15-16 at Bharat Mandapam. During the event, DPIIT and SPF members are set to unveil new collaborative initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s start-up ecosystem.
DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv highlighted that the collaboration underscores DPIIT’s commitment to nurturing an innovation-friendly environment, aligning with India’s ambition of becoming a global innovation hub. A key component of the partnership includes immersive programs to connect global investors with Indian start-ups, offering direct insights into the country’s emerging innovations.
SPF members, representing the entrepreneurial spirit of India, are expected to play a pivotal role in achieving national development milestones by 2047, Sanjiv added.
Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director of Start-up India, emphasized that the initiative aims to accelerate technological adoption, foster innovation, and bolster India’s manufacturing capabilities. By building global relationships, the collaboration seeks to position India’s start-up ecosystem prominently on the international stage.
