The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) recently held a special event at the Landmark Hotel in Kanpur to unveil the Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology, along with the Yadupati Singhania Super Specialty Hospital, on March 15, 2024. This event highlighted IITK’s commitment to pioneering healthcare and medical technology innovations in India, drawing attention to its ambitious projects in the medical sciences field.
The launch attracted prominent figures from various sectors, including healthcare, industry, and academia, all keen on contributing to India’s healthcare evolution. Notable attendees included Mr. Atul Kapoor of Regency Hospital, Mr. Neeraj Gupta of MKU Pvt. Ltd., and other distinguished guests, demonstrating the strong industry-academia partnership that IITK aims to foster.
Prof. S. Ganesh, Director of IIT Kanpur, emphasized the significance of these initiatives, marking a critical step towards healthcare excellence and innovation. He highlighted the collaborative potential between IIT Kanpur and industry leaders, expected to make a substantial global impact.
A.K. Saraogi of J.K. Cements lauded the initiatives, comparing their potential impact on Kanpur’s medical scene to that of IIT’s influence on engineering education in the 1960s. IITK alumnus Mr. Gopal Sutwala expressed his pride and optimism for the project, underscoring the local community’s support.
