Salesforce, a leader in customer relationship management, is intensifying its expansion efforts in India, with plans to secure additional space for growth, according to Chief Operating Officer Brian Millham. In a recent interview, Millham revealed the company’s strategy to enhance its presence in key cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad, which serve as vital hubs supporting global operations.
The company’s commitment to the Indian market is evidenced by its rapid domestic growth, outpacing other regions for two consecutive years. Millham emphasized the significant contributions of Indian employees to Salesforce’s success, noting that their role goes beyond supporting global operations to influencing the company’s innovation trajectory.
Chief of Engineering, Srini Tallapragada, mentioned that investments would continue to focus on Bangalore and Hyderabad as innovation centers. Meanwhile, Arundhati Bhattacharya, the country head, highlighted the workforce’s doubling over the past two years to over 13,000 employees, with further expansions planned depending on market demands.
Bhattacharya also stressed that Salesforce does not view India merely as a cost-saving opportunity but values the abundant talent available. The company is enhancing the Salesforce ecosystem through various initiatives, including training over 200,000 people in partnership with the All India Council for Technical Education.
Looking ahead, Salesforce plans to introduce a new offering tailored for small businesses and expand its government division to assist in implementing citizen services and other state projects, reinforcing its position as a key player in India’s tech-driven growth narrative.
