Samsung Unveils Third Season of ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ Offering Over INR 90 Lakh in Grants, Introduces Separate School and Youth Categories

Samsung, in partnership with the Foundation for Innovation & Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, and the United Nations in India, has launched the third season of its innovation challenge, ‘Solve for Tomorrow’. This initiative seeks to cultivate a spirit of inventive thinking and problem-solving among India’s youth.

The 2024 edition of ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ was kicked off by JB Park, President & CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, alongside Dr. Sandip Chatterjee, Senior Director and Scientist ‘G’ at the Ministry of Electronics & IT, and Shombi Sharp, United Nations Resident Coordinator in India, amid notable guests.

This iteration introduces two separate categories – the School Track for students aged 14-17, concentrating on “community and inclusion”, and the Youth Track for individuals aged 18-22, focusing on “environment and sustainability”. These categories aim to foster innovations that address community upliftment, social inclusion, environmental protection, and sustainability.

JB Park emphasized Samsung’s commitment to empowering future innovators to create impactful solutions for societal improvement. He highlighted ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ as a vital platform for the youth to contribute meaningful innovations.

Incentives for participants include grants for developing and enhancing prototypes, with School Track semi-finalists receiving Rs 20,000 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab, and Youth Track semi-finalists getting Rs 20,000 and a Samsung Galaxy Laptop. Finalists in both tracks are awarded Rs 1 Lakh each, with additional prizes including Samsung Galaxy Watches for School Track and Samsung Z Flip Smartphones for Youth Track finalists.

Winners in the School Track will be named “Community Champions”, receiving a Rs 25 Lakh seed grant for further development, while their schools will receive Samsung products. The “Environment Champion” from the Youth Track will be granted Rs 50 Lakh for incubation at IIT-Delhi, with their colleges also receiving Samsung products.
