The India Mobile Congress 2024 emerged as a focal point for Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation, featuring over 900 technological use cases, including 750 AI-based scenarios, across a four-day event in New Delhi. The congress attracted a myriad of tech and telecom companies, startups, and academic institutions, all showcasing groundbreaking AI applications.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, making his inaugural visit to the IMC, engaged with pioneering enterprises such as Signalchip and Wisig Networks, as well as women-led startups like Astrome and Easiofy Solutions, highlighting India’s leadership in advanced technology.
AI applications on display ranged from virtual agents in customer service to remote healthcare solutions addressing doctor shortages. Notable innovations included Bharti Airtel’s launch of India’s first network-based AI tool for spam detection and Ericsson’s introduction of a 5G-powered robotic dog named Rocky, designed to enhance emergency response efficiencies.
The event also showcased Nokia’s advancements in 5G, 6G, and network infrastructures, while Reliance Jio provided a sneak peek of its PhoneCall AI, aimed at transcribing and summarizing phone calls. Vodafone Idea demonstrated its capability to transmit real-time diagnostic reports, facilitating remote medical consultations.
Further, the event served as a platform for educational institutions like IITs and IIMs to demonstrate their latest research and AI-driven innovations. The India Mobile Congress not only highlighted the technological strides in the telecom sector but also underscored the significant role of AI in transforming various industries, from healthcare to cybersecurity and beyond.
