Boat Labs Unveils Indigenous Neckband IP for the Electronics Industry

Boat’s R&D division has announced a breakthrough in partnership with the Centre of Excellence for Electronics System Design and Manufacturing. They’ve developed an indigenous intellectual property (IP) for their neckband product, including electronics design, optimized bill of materials (BOM), and customized software. This achievement underscores India’s potential for innovation and value engineering within the electronics industry, aligning with the Make in India initiative. Boat becomes the first company in the consumer lifestyle electronics sector to collaborate with the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association, fostering ecosystem innovation. While they don’t intend to patent this project, the IP ecosystem created by Boat Labs aims to reduce India’s reliance on foreign electronics manufacturers, advancing the country’s capabilities and nurturing future national champions.
