Boeing India held the regional finals for the Boeing University Innovation Leadership Development (BUILD) program 2023-24 at Wings India 2024, with participation from T-Hub, India’s largest incubation center. This event, with support from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, India, showcased selected startup entrepreneurs and T-Hub students presenting groundbreaking concepts in aerospace, defense, technology, social impact, and sustainability.
Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for their substantial support in creating a platform for nurturing innovation and ideas within Telangana and Andhra Pradesh’s thriving startup communities. Boeing’s commitment remains strong in assisting startup communities during their journey from inception to maturity through strategic collaborations and industry-academia partnerships.
Now in its third edition, Boeing collaborates with seven incubators, including the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at IIT Mumbai, the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer at IIT Delhi, and others, to organize BUILD in India.
Teams shortlisted from the initial application phase are currently competing in regional-level boot camps across the country. The regional finalists will present their ideas to subject-matter experts on Boeing Immersion Day in Q1, 2024. Boeing’s mentors and industry experts will closely collaborate with the finalists to refine their concepts and explore avenues to transform them into viable business solutions.
BUILD saw a record-breaking number of entries in 2022, with over 800 ideas submitted by more than 1,600 students and startup participants from various cities in India. Boeing India has been actively contributing to skill development and capacity building in the country through initiatives like the HorizonX India Innovation Challenge and Accelerated Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Apprenticeship.
