IIT Madras has joined hands with Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India Pvt. Ltd. (Renault Nissan Tech) to foster talent development and drive innovation. This collaboration offers internships and placement opportunities to students pursuing the IIT Madras BS degree, which currently has an active enrollment of 35,000 students.
The partnership aims to bridge academia and industry by providing mentorship programs, viva sessions, and leadership talks led by Renault Nissan Tech experts. An MoU was signed on November 15, 2024, at the IIT Madras campus in the presence of Prof. Prathap Haridoss, Dean (Academic Courses), Mr. Debashis Neogi, Managing Director of Renault Nissan Tech, and Prof. Andrew Thangaraj, Chair, CODE IIT Madras.
Prof. Prathap Haridoss highlighted the partnership as a benchmark collaboration, emphasizing the importance of industry-academia engagement in talent and knowledge exchange. Mr. Debashis Neogi reaffirmed Renault Nissan Tech’s commitment to nurturing future-ready talent and addressing the challenges of the automotive and tech industries.
Highlights include IIT Madras programs such as web-enabled M.Tech degrees, executive education certificates, and NPTEL courses for Renault Nissan Tech employees. The collaboration also supports CSR initiatives, providing scholarships to 300 students from low-income families.
This partnership builds on past engagements, including mentorship sessions, leadership talks on AI, internships leading to full-time roles, and professional upskilling through IITM CODE programs in areas like eMobility, AI, and 3D printing. Together, IIT Madras and Renault Nissan Tech aim to shape the leaders and innovations of tomorrow.
