India is spearheading the global adoption of Generative AI (GenAI), with a notable 81% of its organizations integrating AI solutions, according to a recent analysis by Elastic, a Search Analytics firm. The report forecasts a surge in AI-related investments and budget enhancements in the near future.
IT service providers are particularly keen on embedding GenAI into their development protocols. This integration is revolutionizing coding efficiency, task automation, and speeding up client delivery, thereby boosting overall productivity. AI’s ability to suggest coding enhancements and reduce manual interventions is shortening project timelines and pushing companies to reevaluate their AI training programs.
Srinivas Reddy, Managing Director at EPAM India, discussed how AI is transforming IT operations and engineering processes. EPAM has prioritized AI training, with approximately 4,000 engineers trained in basic prompt techniques and another 2,500 skilled in AI-enhanced Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Reddy identified three strategic AI focus areas for EPAM: enhancing business performance through AI operations, streamlining project management with AI-enabled SDLC, and improving team integration via AI-assisted onboarding.
These initiatives are designed to not only fast-track project execution but also improve overall client service. Establishing a robust framework that leverages GenAI solutions is deemed crucial for addressing key business challenges. This includes setting clear performance metrics and offering intensive hands-on training.
Elaina Shekhter, EPAM’s Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer, highlighted the dual approach in AI training—providing essential tools for software development and fostering an engaging educational environment.
