India to Highlight AI, Sustainability, and Global Alliances at WEF 2025

India will spotlight its advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), sustainability, and international collaborations during the 55th World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, from January 20 to 24, 2025. This participation underscores India’s growing role in tackling global challenges and fostering innovation, according to a statement from the commerce ministry.

The country’s focus at WEF will center on five key themes outlined by the forum: reimagining growth, investing in people, rebuilding trust, industries in the intelligent age, and safeguarding the planet. These priorities align with India’s initiatives to integrate advanced technologies and sustainable solutions across its economy. With global issues such as climate change, food security, and inequality in focus, India’s delegation plans to present a holistic strategy for addressing these pressing concerns.

The delegation, led by Union ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw, C.R. Patil, K. Rammohan Naidu, and Chirag Paswan, will also include representatives from six states—Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala. Their agenda includes panel discussions, roundtables, and Government-to-Business (G2B) and Government-to-Government (G2G) engagements on topics like sustainability, food security, AI innovation, and global partnerships.

Indian companies will also showcase their innovations through dedicated lounges, emphasizing the nation’s growing influence in global markets.

With a recent milestone of $1 trillion in foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows since 2000 and a 26% rise in FDI this fiscal year, India’s presence at WEF 2025 is set to reinforce its status as a hub for innovation and sustainable growth.
