President Murmu celebrated India’s burgeoning influence in AI, noting that indigenous ingenuity is guiding global technological adoption and progress. “Our youth is bringing glory to the country… India is showing the way to the world in the fields of Artificial Intelligence,” she declared, underscoring a steadfast commitment to cultivating a vibrant AI ecosystem.
Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, detailed recent developments, including the creation of a homegrown Large Language Model, anticipated within 10 months. Highlighting India’s robust AI infrastructure, Vaishnaw mentioned that the nation now boasts 15,000 high-end GPUs, positioning it favorably against international platforms such as ChatGPT.
Additionally, the government’s commitment to AI is evident in the Rs 10,000 crore allocated over five years in the Union Budget 2024-25. President Murmu also highlighted initiatives like the “Drone Didi” scheme, designed to empower women in technology.
