Samsung Declares India as the Next Major AI Arena

Samsung announced its dedication to integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and hyperconnectivity into its offerings for the Indian market, identifying it as a significant future hub for AI technology. JH Han, the Vice Chairman, CEO, and Head of the Device Experience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, emphasized that AI technology is set to enhance daily life through seamless and unobtrusive means.

During his visit to the Samsung store at Jio World Plaza, Mumbai, Han highlighted India’s status as a crucial, rapidly evolving market, presenting vast opportunities for Samsung. This statement is particularly relevant as the smartphone industry shifts focus towards incorporating AI functionalities and moving towards more premium features.

Samsung currently leads the Indian smartphone sector with a market share of 18%. In line with its ‘AI for All’ initiative, the company introduced Galaxy AI with the launch of its Galaxy S24 smartphone series in January.

Han praised India’s tech-enthusiastic youth, who play a significant role in Samsung’s innovation, especially in AI, through their work in the company’s R&D centers. Samsung recently opened a new lifestyle store in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, offering an immersive ‘One Samsung’ experience that showcases its latest AI technologies and a connected device ecosystem.

Expressing pride in their collaborative approach, Han stated Samsung’s ambition to make AI and connectivity accessible to all, further democratizing these technologies for a broader audience.
