India has quickly become one of the world’s fastest-growing markets, and Samsung, a leading South Korean technology company, recognizes significant potential for growth within the country, according to a top executive. Jong-Hee (JH) Han, Vice Chairman, CEO, and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, recently visited the company’s expansive facility in Noida.
During his visit, Han remarked, “India stands out as one of the largest and most rapidly expanding markets worldwide, presenting vast opportunities for Samsung. We were pioneers in investing here, and I am pleased to see our Noida factory become one of our largest production hubs, serving not just the Indian market but also the global demand.”
The Noida factory is instrumental in producing a variety of products, including smartphones, tablets, and refrigerators, catering to both local and international consumers. Additionally, Samsung operates another manufacturing site in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.
Han also praised the significant contributions of Samsung’s Indian R&D teams, particularly in developing new technologies and services. He highlighted the dynamic and tech-savvy youth of India, whose needs and creativity spur innovation, especially in artificial intelligence. “It’s inspiring to see young, talented Indian engineers taking center stage at our R&D facilities here,” he stated.
Samsung maintains three R&D centers in India, with two in Noida and one in Bengaluru, the latter being the largest Samsung R&D center outside South Korea.
