USIBC Launches AI Task Force, Welcomes Meta as Co-chair

The US-India Business Council (USIBC) recently convened the inaugural meeting of its AI Task Force, aimed at fostering leadership and collaboration between the US and India within the AI sector. The newly formed task force, which also welcomed Meta as its co-chair, is set to drive forward initiatives in AI that promote responsible and inclusive technological solutions to key societal issues.

During this landmark event, USIBC not only expanded its task force with influential new members but also outlined its mission to harmonize US and Indian AI strategies, advocate for shared AI principles, and enhance industry competitiveness across both nations. The meeting featured prominent figures from diverse technology sectors including logistics, semiconductors, biotechnology, and more, providing a rich platform for dialogue and partnership. Atul Keshap, president of USIBC, highlighted the transformative potential of the AI Task Force, stating, “Our AI Task Force is a significant step towards a future where AI not only transforms industries but also bolsters free societies.”

Newly added members of the task force include Bala Subramanian from UPS, Akash Shah from BNY Mellon, and Inderpreet Sawhney from Infosys, each bringing a wealth of expertise to this pioneering initiative. Their involvement underscores USIBC’s commitment to fostering strong bilateral ties and harnessing AI for societal prosperity.
