Deloitte, a leading professional services network, has inaugurated a unique ‘phygital’ (physical plus digital) innovation center in Bengaluru. The Deloitte Centre of Innovation and Technology (DCIT) is designed to offer domain-specific solutions that enhance business efficiency and reduce costs.
Ashvin Vellody, Partner and Strategy, Innovation, and Assets Leader at Deloitte India, explained that the center is focused on fostering a culture of innovation, helping businesses explore sustainable growth strategies, and transforming their operational models through a blend of physical and digital experiences.
Spanning 12,500 square feet, DCIT features five distinct zones—retail, manufacturing, digital studio, immersive, and advanced connectivity. It aims to redefine how businesses across various sectors reimagine customer interactions, supply chain processes, and product development. The center integrates 5G and AI to facilitate the creation of prototypes that merge visionary ideas with practical, high-quality outputs.
Vellody emphasized the collaborative nature of this initiative, stating, “This is a co-creation journey. We are engaging not only clients but also our ecosystem and alliance partners to innovate together.” DCIT showcases over 60 use cases spanning retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and more, with updates every 90 days.
Moreover, the center employs mixed reality, immersive reality, and augmented reality to offer real-time, hands-on experiences to clients, enabling them to preview the outcomes of innovative business ideas before full-scale implementation. DCIT also collaborates with academic institutions like IIT Delhi and IIT Madras to further stimulate innovation.
