T-Hub, an incubator supported by the Telangana government, has joined hands with DENSO, a leading Japanese auto components maker, to nurture automotive startups in the region. Under a newly signed memorandum of understanding, DENSO will provide mentorship and offer access to its research and development facilities and technical know-how to the startups.
DENSO will assist these startups, identified through T-Hub’s networking platform “T-Connect,” in ideation, tackling complex problems, and finding targeted solutions aimed at developing smart automotive technologies.
Yasuhiro Iida, CEO of DENSO International India, emphasized that the initiative would support startups specializing in artificial intelligence, electrification, advanced driver assistance systems, and vehicle-to-everything communications. The collaboration also includes sponsoring hackathons and innovation challenges at T-Hub that focus on automotive technology.
“We are excited to work with startups that share our vision for a sustainable and intelligent mobility future. We will empower them with R&D and technical expertise, helping them to scale effectively,” stated Iida.
T-Hub’s interim CEO, Sujit Jagirdar, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting its potential to enhance the state’s ability to attract and collaborate with global automotive leaders and foster innovative solutions tailored to India’s unique automotive needs.
Established in 2015, T-Hub is a collaborative effort between the Telangana government, three academic institutions, and the private sector. Since its inception, T-Hub has launched over 100 innovation programs, aiding more than 2,000 local startups. With a recent investment of INR 300 Cr, T-Hub aims to mentor up to 20,000 startups in the next five years through its various initiatives.
