Digital India Innovation Zone Steals the Spotlight at IMC 2024

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) launched the Digital India Innovation Zone at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024 on Thursday, showcasing India’s robust Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) through a series of engaging interactive experiences. This pavilion, dedicated to DPI achievements like DigiLocker, UPI, Aadhaar, eSanjeevani, and ONDC, features booths from pivotal organizations such as C-DAC, NIXI, and SAMEER, each highlighting unique technological innovations developed within the country.

Engagement and Education Through Interactive Booths

Attendees of the IMC 2024 can immerse themselves in a range of services. The UMANG booth, for instance, offers real-time access to critical services like blood bank information and passport services, while the DigiLocker booth engages visitors with a gamified experience to secure documents digitally and win prizes. The NPCI booth demonstrates the UPI’s Scan & Pay feature, emphasizing its significance in India’s digital payment landscape. Similarly, the ONDC stall provides a deep dive into its transformative effects on e-commerce through live data and real seller stories.

Healthcare and Multilingual Communication Innovations

The eSanjeevani booth showcases India’s National Telemedicine Service, which is significantly improving healthcare accessibility. The Digital India BHASHINI booth presents tools for cross-language translation and enhancing doctor-patient communications, while the Aadhaar booth introduces a revolutionary face authentication system.

Technological Advances and Multilingual Internet Promotion

NIXI promotes the .भारत domain at its booth, stressing the importance of a multilingual internet. C-DAC and SAMEER are not left behind, displaying their latest advancements in 5G technologies and healthcare communication tools, respectively.

A Global Stage for Local Innovations

With over 400 exhibitors and participants from more than 120 countries, IMC 2024 serves as a global platform to showcase and celebrate India’s commitment to digital innovation. The event includes over 100 sessions featuring more than 600 speakers, running from October 15-18. The Digital India Innovation Zone plays a pivotal role in illustrating India’s strides towards enhancing citizen-centric governance, ease of living, and business through pioneering digital technologies.
