Intel Partners with Indian Electronics Manufacturers to Boost ‘Make in India’ Laptop Production

Intel has forged a strategic alliance with eight Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) in India to enhance laptop production. This collaboration aims to capitalize on Intel’s expertise to bolster the country’s laptop manufacturing sector, aligning with the Make in India initiative. Participating companies, including Bhagwati Products Ltd and Dixon Technologies India Ltd, will leverage Intel’s support to meet both local and global demand for laptops.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, emphasized the significance of this partnership in advancing India’s digital economy ambitions. Intel’s contribution includes sharing technological insights, implementing advanced assembly lines, and ensuring quality control processes throughout production. Santhosh Viswanathan, VP & MD, India Region, Intel, highlighted the collaboration’s role in nurturing India’s electronic manufacturing capabilities, with plans for an India Tech Ecosystem Summit in November to showcase locally-made devices.
