SLCM Group Secures Second Patent for Advanced Commodity Monitoring System

Sohan Lal Commodity Management (SLCM) Group, a leader in post-harvest logistics, announced on Monday that it has been granted a second patent by the Indian Patent Office for its innovative “Agri Reach” application. This system enhances warehouse management by enabling real-time monitoring of quality control data throughout all stages of commodity storage.

Awarded on May 20, this latest patent acknowledges SLCM’s sophisticated method designed to maintain the integrity of stored commodities from receipt to dispatch. This development follows their first patent received in 2022, which facilitated real-time data management and central monitoring of agricultural products from any location.

With these patents, SLCM has distinguished itself as the first company in India’s agricultural sector to offer a comprehensive solution that controls both the quality and quantity of agricultural commodities in real-time through a unified platform. This capability is set to significantly contribute to India’s agricultural self-reliance, enhancing various aspects of post-harvest management.

The “Agri Reach” system is acclaimed for its precise accuracy in managing commodity transactions, both inbound and outbound, and for optimizing data management and quality control processes across warehouse operations.

SLCM’s CEO, Sandeep Sabharwal, emphasized that these patents underscore the company’s leadership and its ongoing commitment to innovating within India’s agriculture sector. As of the end of March 2024, SLCM manages assets worth ₹10,928.82 crore and operates a vast network of nearly 17,000 warehouses and 36 cold storages across India and Myanmar.
