Tata Elxsi, a leading global design and technology services company, in collaboration with global automation firm Emerson, has inaugurated the Tata Elxsi + NI Mobility Innovation Centre (TENMIC) in Bengaluru. This cutting-edge facility is set to accelerate automotive innovation through advanced systems, software solutions, and global automotive expertise.
The launch event was led by Manoj Raghavan, MD & CEO of Tata Elxsi, Ritu Favre, President of the Test and Measurement Business Group at Emerson, and Drita Roggenbuck, VP & GM of the Transportation Business Unit at Emerson. The event was attended by senior technology and R&D leaders from global OEMs, leading automotive suppliers, and semiconductor companies, emphasizing the importance of TENMIC and the collaboration between Tata Elxsi and NI in advancing automotive development.
The automotive industry is undergoing rapid transformation with the rise of software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and digital technology integration. This shift necessitates swift innovation to develop, validate, and release new features while ensuring reliability, safety, and performance. TENMIC is designed to meet these industry needs by enabling OEMs to validate performance and functionality through a mix of virtual and physical testing before production. Key to this approach are automation, agility, and the influence of data and AI-led methodologies on product development.
TENMIC integrates advanced technologies from Emerson’s Test & Measurement business with Tata Elxsi’s expertise in automotive engineering, data analytics, and digitalization. This partnership aims to deliver comprehensive automated solutions, including advancements in SDVs, autonomous driving technologies, and EV systems.
“India is becoming a global hub for next-generation automotive development, with global R&D centres from OEMs to silicon vendors,” said Shaju S., VP and Head of Transportation Business Unit at Tata Elxsi. “Our partnership with Emerson aims to drive innovation, leveraging global expertise to create immense value for our clients.”
Shitendra Bhattacharya, Director of Emerson’s Test and Measurement Business in India & ASEAN, added, “Our collaboration with Tata Elxsi to establish this mobility innovation centre will enable rapid advancements in automotive technologies, driving the industry forward and redefining the possibilities within the mobility landscape.”
