Unlocking India’s Manufacturing Potential: NITI Aayog’s Research Initiative

NITI Aayog, India’s policy think tank, is embarking on a research study to pinpoint the sectors capable of catapulting the country into a global manufacturing leader. The study’s aim is to uncover the industries that hold the most promise for India’s manufacturing growth by assessing factors like future manufacturing trends, industrial capabilities, infrastructure, policy frameworks, and market potential.

Nine prominent institutions, including Ernst & Young, KPMG Advisory Services, and CRISIL, have answered the call to participate in this transformative research. The chosen consultant will delve into at least 12 sectors, examining their potential to contribute significantly to India’s manufacturing prowess.

The comprehensive study will evaluate India’s current manufacturing landscape in a global context, analyze production capacity, technology adoption, and export potential. It will also identify key sectors, assess infrastructure requirements, and scrutinize policy frameworks. Insights from industry experts, policymakers, and stakeholders will be integrated, resulting in recommendations and strategies to drive India’s transformation into a global manufacturing hub.
