Amgen to Establish New Tech Hub in Hyderabad

Amgen, a leading US-based biopharmaceutical firm, is set to launch a new center for technology and innovation in Hyderabad, dubbed Amgen India. This initiative aims to boost the company’s digital prowess globally, enhancing its burgeoning lineup of healthcare solutions.

Set to be situated in HITEC City, a notable tech suburb of Hyderabad, Amgen India will occupy six floors within the modern RMZ Spire Tower 110. Hyderabad was chosen for its robust pool of professionals in medicine, life sciences, data sciences, and the burgeoning artificial intelligence sector. The facility, which will commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2024, is designed to house up to 3,000 employees.

The primary focus of Amgen India will be to develop and expedite new technological solutions and digital tools on a large scale. These innovations are intended to streamline processes throughout the company. The hub will play a crucial role in bolstering vital segments of Amgen’s operations, particularly in artificial intelligence, data science, and life sciences, with plans to expand its global capabilities further.

Amgen has appointed Som Chattopadhyay as the national executive for India, signaling a significant commitment to its expansion in the region.

Currently, Amgen employs around 27,000 individuals globally and operates in nearly 100 countries, including India. This new site marks an important step in Amgen’s strategy to integrate advanced technologies into its operations, driving forward its mission to pioneer novel medical treatments.
