AIM–NITI Aayog Unveils RISE Accelerator for Circular Economy Startups in India and Australia.

On Tuesday, AIM, NITI Aayog, launched the Rapid Innovation and Startup Expansion (RISE) accelerator, a collaborative effort with Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO. This initiative supports circular economy startups in both countries. The RISE Accelerator is designed to foster innovation addressing shared challenges, particularly in environmental and climate technology.

Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director of Atal Innovation Mission, emphasized RISE as a pioneering program dedicated to India-Australia collaboration. Over a nine-month period, RISE will guide startups in navigating a new region, establishing vital connections, and building credibility for international success. The program is especially geared toward startups and SMEs with mature technologies looking to expand between India and Australia.

This venture aligns with CSIRO’s Circular Economy for Missions initiative, focusing on waste innovation for a sustainable future. Startups joining the RISE Accelerator may qualify for non-equity grants up to INR 40,00,000. Applications are open until January 7, 2024, offering a unique opportunity for startups to thrive in the circular economy space.
