The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) and Engineers India Limited (EIL) have come together to advance innovation and research in green technologies.
An MoU was signed between the two institutions, marking the beginning of collaborative projects aimed at cutting-edge research initiatives. This partnership underscores their shared commitment to sustainability and efficient resource usage.
Research areas of focus include novel approaches for converting carbon dioxide (CO2) into valuable chemicals, highlighting their dedication to reducing greenhouse gas emissions while creating economic opportunities. Efforts will also extend to tri-reforming methane for syngas production, catalytic CO2 conversion into olefins and methanol, and developing catalytic processes for transforming lignocellulosic biomass into high-value chemicals.
Through this collaboration, both parties seek to tackle urgent challenges in renewable energy, sustainable development, and environmental preservation. Prof KK Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, emphasized the significance of collaboration in fostering innovation, stating that the partnership with Engineers India Limited marks a pivotal moment in their quest for scientific excellence. Together, they aim to unlock new frontiers and devise solutions that will shape a brighter and more sustainable future.
