Tata Group Aims for 70% Renewable Energy Usage by 2030, Reveals N Chandrasekaran

During a recent convocation ceremony at XLRI-Xavier School of Management in Jamshedpur, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran announced the conglomerate’s ambitious goal to switch to 70% renewable energy by the end of the decade. Honored with the Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal for his contributions to social and industrial harmony, Chandrasekaran highlighted the importance of nation-building and the unique position of India in embracing significant transitions in energy, digital technologies like AI and machine learning, and supply chains.

Chandrasekaran emphasized Tata Group’s dedication to simplification, synergy, sustainability, supply chain reinvention, and digital evolution. He attributed these goals to a foundation of integrity, strategic clarity, effective execution, robust governance, and consistent effort.

To the graduating class, Chandrasekaran imparted three essential mantras for success: maintain a positive outlook, cultivate a mindset geared towards winning, and embrace hard work. He encouraged the new graduates to lead the way in contributing to India’s growth story.

The event celebrated the academic achievements of 552 graduates, marking their transition into the professional world. Chandrasekaran’s message underscored the Tata Group’s forward-looking agenda and its commitment to contributing positively to both the environment and the economy by 2030.
