Tesla is actively seeking Indian partners to manufacture its rooftop solar panels, a move aimed at leveraging India’s growing rooftop solar sector. The selected partner will handle manufacturing and installation, while Tesla provides technology and sales expertise. This initiative aligns with India’s incentives to boost rooftop solar, with projections indicating a 47% annual growth in capacity. Tesla’s expansion plans in India gained traction after CEO Elon Musk’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June last year. The company is also negotiating concessions, including lower import duty rates for its vehicles. With India’s rooftop solar capacity steadily increasing, Tesla aims to tap into this market with its innovative solar power generation and storage products.
